—♚♔ Enemy number one, allegiance to none. That was the code of conduct the mercenary hunter Jericho Redgrave lived by. The same kind of duality was evident in his origin for he was partly westerner which raised lots of suspicion by the locals however they all agreed on one thing; who ever stood in his way,no matter how far they ran, they were doomed.
However Hunting generals or warlords wasn’t what he was occupied with at the moment; he was clashing swords with group of bandits who for some reason were pursuing a lady, claiming she was of importance of some sort.
❝For a bunch of crooks you guys are packin’ some nice steel. Unfortunately I have to break it— along with your necks. ❞
It was a pain to have to navigate quickly in the rain, but even a bigger pain when mud was everywhere. There were what– five, six of these guys– each burly and stupid, but quick enough that the woman veiled in white couldn’t quite get out of their line of sight. She figured she could have outran them, had she not been hindered by an arrow lodged into her leg. It stung like hell to go much further, and she stumbled with each hasty limp. All in all, she was certain that she was screwed.
Thank the Heavens someone actually decided to intervene with these buffoons and pick a fight with them. Beneath the hood of her white cloak, Nanfeng’s frozen glare was cast straight toward the back of a bandit, who had since then turned their attention to the mercenary. Bunch of pricks, they were. She already knew what they wanted with her.
❝Help me! I’ve done nothing wrong!❞ Nanfeng plead desperately as she limped back, bringing her hands together against her chest. ❝They’re–❞
❝Bitch, shut your mouth!❞ While three occupied themselves with fending the man off, she was snatched by one and hoisted over his shoulder. It promptly led to her whipping out a small blade from her sleeve and impaling it into his back, resulting in her being thrown back to the muddy ground.
